Zoom in Revit

Post by m-peter »

Hi!
Maybe it's a silly question but I have problem with using spacepilot pro in revit. Can it be set so in 3d view it zooms on the mouse arrow instead of the 'center point'?

Revit 2012 supports the device natively.
Contact Autocad and ask if they added this ability in the application.

I am also noticing some wierd behavior.

In 3D views you can set the center point (Nav Bar) which of course resets after closing the view. The orbit will follow that point as the center of rotation but the zoom still uses another point. So if you have set the center point in the center of the screen using pan and then zoom the model flies off hte side of the screen super fast.

BTW I have asked Autodesk for support and they direct me to 3d connexion

We provides the speed adjustment and button mapping our driver does not determine the rotation points in Revit. We were not able to create an addin it had to be done by Autodesk.

What it works for me as a workaround is the following:
  • go to your 3D view, with your space navigator zoom in and out to see to which direction is going to.
  • pan the model with your space navigator in that direction
  • readjust your view to centre the model with the MOUSE zoom and pan
  • do this until you get the model in this virtual centre
I hope this helps because I know this behaviour is very annoying.

Same process here, it could be solved if we had an auto center functionnality

It still is a problem in 2022, the fault lies with Autodesk if I understood correctly ?
That probably means it will never be corrected, how about a workaround with the center tool, make it so it adjust automatically only once ?

Thank you
