'2D' operation of 3D mouse

Post by Kinghowi »

I have been using Solidworks for years, but I can't get the logic behind the axis set-up of the SpaceNavigator, and as a result it sits on my desk unused.

I want to change the axis so that up/down is mapped to zoom & push forward & backwards to mapped to panning up and down, basically swapping these two functions from what seems to be the default set-up. I read in another post that it is possible to edit the config file, but when I followed the instructions given the only config file I found did not have any entries mentioning 'AXIS_MAP_HRZ_USER'

I want to swap axis 3 & 4

1=X (Pan Right/Left)
2=Y (Pan Up/Down)
3=Z (Zoom)
4=R (Tilt)
5=U (Spin)
6=V (Roll

Can you point me in the direction of the config file using Solidworks 2016? when I hover the curser over the icon in the system tray this is displayed 'SpaceNavigator - Solidwors.exe (Solidworks.xml)'

Thanks

Hello Kinghowi,

the post you mention refers to our legacy driver - 3DxSoftware. For 3DxWare 10 you will find information here.
