Hi Borderline,

please check if the plugin is loaded:

Customize -> Plug-in Manager ...

You should have an entry for 3DXSTD.DLU. Do you? Is it "loaded"?

That sounds as if something went wrong with the installation. I recommend to uninstall the driver and make a new default installation. In case you have an older version of the 3D mouse driver installed uninstall everything before you make a new installation.

Let me know if you can solve the issue or if you still need assistance. Thanks.

Hi,

Me and my Customer is having the exact same issue.
Windows 7 x64. Driver version: 10.2.1.

Can't see the 3DXSTD.DLU in the Plugin list in 3DS MAX 2014.
Though the mouse works perfectly in all other Autodesk and other CAD Applications.

Hi david.haugli,

sorry for the confusion. This has changed in the last driver version. In 3dsmax please open the menu of the 3dsmax icon (top left corner), then go to "Properties -> Summary Info". You will find a button at the bottom named "Plug-In Info ...". It shows the loaded plugins. Check if you have "3dxstd.dlu" listed there.

Hi cheffe,

do you have the 3dxstd.dlu listed as described in the post above?

Which driver version do you have installed?

I'm having the same issue, it is not shown in the Plug-In Info in 3ds Max. Uninstalled and reinstalled the latest driver... same issue.

I found this on the internet and it works, but all the movements are backwards... opposite of the correctly working ones in Inventor

On a 32-bit PC:

Copy the "3dxstd.dlu" file from C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxStudio32-->win32 -->3DsMax2012 to the "stdplugs" sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

Copy "3DxStudio.ms" from C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxStudio32 to the scriptsstartup sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

On a 64-bit PC:

Copy the "3dxstd.dlu" file from C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxStudio64-->x64 -->3DsMax2012 to the "stdplugs" sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

Copy "3DxStudio.ms" from C:-->Program Files-->3Dconnexion-->3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware-->3DxStudio64 to the scriptsstartup sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

So I changed the button directions while in the program. I thought they would be global changes but I guess it remembers for the program you are in? Made the changes in 3ds but my inventor ones stayed. Wish there were a box or something to let you know for which program you are modifying. Anyhow, it's all working, hope this helps someone else.

@ UtaSH:

no the file is not in the list
I have installed the driver version:

3DxWare 10 Version 10.2.2
3DxWinCore Version 17.2.2.11155
for SpaceMouse Pro (Firmware V. 4.35)

I am using 3ds Max design 2014 on a 64bit system

When I start max I receive that message:
3ds Max failed to find any "RuntimeRequirements" nodes under "ApplicationPackage" node in "C\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\3DxStudio.bundle\PackageContents.xml". Please check its format.

@ Jason Jackson:

I tried to do what you suggest.
The files in these locations where still form 2014 and I replaced them, but with no result

I am happy for any solution.
Thanks for your time.

Heya UtasH...

Try manually starting the plug-in.

At the top, click Customize -> Plugin Manager

Right Click in the grey area -> Load New Plug-In

Browse to 3dxstd.dlu file. You said it was in the stdplugs folder.

Hope this gets it!

I was already wondering ;-)

Right now I am installing the service pack 5
Just noticed that this was missing
and after that I will test to install the plugin manually

Thank you for now!
