Assigning Shortcuts

How exactly do I assign keyborad shorcuts to motion on my SpaceNavigator?
I read about the XML files at C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg

I have one for Chrome.xml and I want to assign a chrome keyboard shortcut CTRL+W to the SpaceNavigator Press Down.

Did you ever find an answer to your question? From reading the literature, I expected that it would be simple to "train" the Space Navigator to trigger keyboard presses or mouse events for a given application. From what I gather, you need to learn the SDK to accomplish this. Do they have a "learn" mode that you can teach the 3D mouse that a joystick motion should invoke a given keyboard or mouse action?
