I saw a couple of threads about this from 2007 but I didn't see any resolution. Is there a way to attach the SpaceNav so that it is an "Event" just like a keyboard or mouse in SDL?

Hi Dave,
there are some limitations to the event interface. For example you need kernel 2.6.20 or higher to be able to set the LEDs. And you have to make sure the hiddev is disabled for the SpaceNavigator. (See here - Chapter "The event interface" for more information about the event interface.)
