Re: What is this mouse called and is it supported still?
That is an original 'Space Pilot' and 3Dconnexion support for them ended in March of 2013.

Re: 3D space navigator NOT working in Maya 2016 Extension 2
we have heard your request and we are working on the support for Maya 2016 Extension 2. Our next release is already in the testing phase so I am afraid the fix will not make it into this release. But I will make sure the priority is increased on this. ;) That's the exact same answer we got over a m...

Re: Silent Installation
For better visibility, you may wish to start a new thread for your issue, instead of adding to a thread which has not been active in nearly 8 years.

I have only ever used it with the default SL viewer, but I would assume like this--> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/joystick

Re: Can't select objects after rotating in view
You are more likely to get some visibility if you generate a new thread with descriptive detail of your issue, instead of adding 'me too' at the end of a 2yr old thread.

Re: Got problems with Blender? Read here.
I do not have a Mac to test this on, but I know this is the case under Windows.... Blender does not recognize 3dconnexion settings for sensitivity and buttons, and requires you to assign their values and function within Blender's preferences. This may sound like horrible implementation, but it allow...

Re: Elite Dangerous on OSX
There is nothing to keep Frontier from adding 3dmouse support to Elite Dangerous, save the cost to benefit ratio. Is it worth it to them to add the code overhead for a niche product like a 3dmouse? Or is code for gaming joysticks sufficient for their target audience? You would be better served to as...

Re: Wacom Cintiq pen and space pilot ?
I know that the SPPro works with 3dsMax, and I am fairly sure it works with the CryEngine, but I can tell you that you will have no luck with ZBrush. The people behind ZBrush (Pixologic) have shown no interest in adding 3d device support to their product. It will work with MudBox though... https://w...

Re: SpacePilot Pro unwanted actions
I would assume that whichever animation software you are using has keyboard shortcuts to perform the functions you are seeing occur. And that the SpacePilot is probably performing those key presses. See what is in the 3dxware settings for your program, and turn off any offending presets. If no profi...

Re: Assign global defaults? Or disable mouse until I need it
If you are unplugging the mouse, there should be no reason to uninstall the driver.
Then you can just plug it back in when you need it for whatever application.

Cant blame Logitech for any of that.
3DConnexion stopped being 'a Logitech company' back in 2011.

Re: Wrong rotation at top view
This is going to be a limitation of the software package being used, and how it translates SpaceNav input. Either relative to the current viewing angle, or relative to the object's axes. Regardless if the object is upside down or not, turning the knob to the right, rotates to the object's right, not...

While the Space Pilot has been unsupported since March of 2013, AFAIK, the Navigator is still fully supported.

Re: 3dconnexion spacepilot 3d buy or not?
Windows, Linux, or Mac? I dont think you will get it to work under Mac. But both Windows and Linux will work with Blender even without official drivers. (But the lcd will not work) I have no experience with Rhino or using it with Photoshop. I suspect they will require drivers, and as you noted, that...
