Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software
The CATIA, Unigraphics, Solidworks, and a few other branded units show up on ebay quite often, and those all appear to have been done with a screen printing process. The space-scene and Ferrari models on the other hand, are an all over paint job, and must have been quite expensive to do. I have been...

Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software
jwick, Do you have historical information on the airbrushed spacemice? Like how many were done, and by whom?

Re: Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)
Unplugging and replugging the USB does not correct it?

Re: Windows forum
The rate of spam really is not much greater than usual, but the mod who usually cleans them up is on vacation, so they arent being cleared out. Yeah, makes reading a pain..

I believe that the admins here on the forum are on holiday. None of them have commented to any thread or deleted any spam in nearly 2 weeks.

Re: Are there no support folks here on this forum?
Glad you managed to find a legit Microsoft fix for the installation issue. I have fired off an educational message to support about that horrible advice you were given in email. As for the SolidWorks issue, I have no idea. I cannot even test that at my end. I can only assume it is related to the Sol...

Re: Are there no support folks here on this forum?
I wouldnt use that 'fixit' patch, either. Definitely not as my first choice anyway.
I would try turning off whatever anti-virus you are running, and do a clean reinstall of the latest driver.
I would also make sure I was installing the driver as Administrator.

Re: Are there no support folks here on this forum?
Error 1714 looks to affect many software packages, but is always associated with replacing old files with newer ones, usually due to anti-virus software preventing an installer from messing with existing files. It is possible that attempting to update to a newer version of the driver resulted in a p...

Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software
Quest nearly completed..... Thanks to the support team here on the forum, my bucket list of spacemouse models which I was missing, has been greatly reduced. In fact, I thought it was finished, until I did some cleanup on the website, and realized that I had overlooked one of the ancient models. A Lo...

Re: Zbrush Petition
I just bought this space navigator and now I'm biased to hear it actually doesn't work one of the nowadays "industry" standard programs like zbrush at all... seriously I was so hyped to fasten up my workflow but now I have no choice than return this thing You are not the only one upset ab...

Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software
I'm surprised you had a hard time finding an Avenger. You are missing a Cyberman 2? They are on eBay quite often. It has a joystick port, not of much use today. You need to update the link to your wiki. I think the link at the beginning of this topic is broken. SpaceOrb360s are considerably easier ...

Another hard to find model checked off the list... Just arrived from the UK.
I think this is only the 2nd Avenger I have seen since I started hunting them 5yrs ago.

Re: Old Spacemouse plus on Windows 8
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but 3DConnexion stopped supporting the Spacemouse Plus back in 2009. http://www.3dconnexion.com/index.php?id=200&faq_red=faq/39 If you do manage to find a driver that old, it is most likely that the plugin for Solidworks 2013 will not work with it. It is even ...

Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software
My bad. I am apparently working from outdated information.
Didnt 3Dx have a similar 'ErgoCommander' years ago?
I remember finding some pictures at one time, but could find very little info.
